What's the worst that can happen?

I rather live by the idea of 'what's the worst that can happen'.

When I decide to do something in life, I think it's a good place to start.

This is something that encouraged me to start my own startup. To my mind, there were 3 outcomes in building a business.

Outcome A - I build a Unicorn, the gap is real, idea is real and I get the right people on board.

Outcome B - the startup goes well, makes a bit of money, I find some clients along the way, trundle along and learn lots.

Outcome C - The startup really struggles, clients are hard to come by, products break and go wrong and it gets lonely and difficult at times. However, I learn lots and meet many interesting people along the way.

All of these outcomes are very different but they all have 1 thing in common;

I learn a hell of a lot along the way.

So if my worst case scenario is 'I learn a hell of a lot along the way' is there really such a thing as failure?

I don't think so, and when you realise as long as you apply yourself you can't fail - it's a pretty nice place to be.

So I know it's not for everyone and you have to have an idea, passion and be self-motivated. But in this current climate for graduates I'd encourage everyone to be creative. Especially given that you can rent 100 Einsteins at £90 per month at the moment and command them to do whatever you wish...
